Today, Akshaya Patra operates 78 kitchens across 16 states and 3 Union Territories, serving over 23,000 schools under the PM POSHAN initiative - ensuring every child can learn, dream and thrive without hunger holding them back.

Akshaya Patra: Who we are

As an implementing partnering of the Government of India’s PM POSHAN initiative, Akshaya Patra works on a Public-Private Partnership (PPP) model.  The efforts are in direct alignment with two critical Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs): SDG 2 – Zero Hunger and SDG 4 – Quality Education. Supported by thousands of partners and individuals, the Foundation remains committed to efficiency and compassion.
